Spine Corrector Teaser

Intermediate

Seated Spine Corrector teaser exercise using the barrel curve to guide the roll-back arc and challenge abdominal endurance.

Setup instructions

Sit at the front edge of the Spine Corrector with the feet resting on the handles or floor. Begin upright with the spine tall and the core engaged. Hold the feet lightly for initial support if needed.

Breathing cues

Exhale to roll back and lift. Inhale to hold. Exhale to return.

Movement steps

  1. 1Inhale to prepare.
  2. 2Exhale to roll the spine back over the barrel arc while lifting the legs to the teaser angle.
  3. 3Balance in the V-position with the core lifted and the spine in contact with the barrel.
  4. 4Inhale to hold.
  5. 5Exhale to lower the legs and roll back upright.

Common mistakes

Collapsing into the low back on the roll; throwing the legs; losing the core connection; holding the breath; rushing the return.

Safety notes

Use the barrel arc as a guide, not a crutch. Keep the abdominals working throughout. Avoid if hip flexor or low-back discomfort appears.

FAQs

  • Is Spine Corrector Teaser suitable for beginners?

It is intermediate. Good mat abdominal control should be established before using the barrel, as the extended roll-back range increases the demand on the core and hip flexors.

  • What muscles does Spine Corrector Teaser work?

The deep abdominals and hip flexors work intensely to control the roll-back and hold the V-position. The core must remain active throughout the arc to prevent the spine from collapsing into the barrel.

  • What is Spine Corrector Teaser good for?

It develops core endurance through a greater range than the mat teaser allows. The barrel guides the articulation and provides feedback on where the spine is through the movement.
