Exercise
Tabletop toe taps on the mat with a resistance band looped around the feet for pelvic stability and core control.
Setup instructions
Lie supine on the mat with knees bent and feet flat to begin. Loop a resistance band around the balls of both feet. Lift the knees to tabletop with shins parallel to the floor. Hold the band ends lightly in each hand or rest the arms by the sides.
Breathing cues
Exhale to tap. Inhale to return.
Movement steps
- 1Inhale to prepare in tabletop.
- 2Exhale to lower one foot toward the floor, tapping the toe lightly against band tension.
- 3Inhale to return the leg to tabletop with control.
- 4Exhale to tap the opposite toe.
- 5Continue alternating without letting the pelvis rock.
Common mistakes
Letting the low back arch as the toe taps down; dropping the foot lower than trunk control allows; pulling the band unevenly; rushing the tempo; holding the breath.
Safety notes
Keep the tap range modest until pelvic stability feels clear. Stop if sharp back or hip discomfort appears.
